 Apple painting in a bag!

We read Ten Apples on Top by Dr. Seuss and put bean bags on top of each other heads.

Next week we will use our senses to explore apples.  We will taste different kinds of apples and we try some apple juice and apply cider.  We will smell different types of fruits in our smelling jar.   Next week we will be making apple sauce!

Shapes
This week also started working on our primary shapes in class.
Our new favorite song is Triangle, circle and square!!!

Colors
We have also start on our primary colors

Color  Sensory Time
Sensory play encourages scientific processes. They learn to solve problems by solved using the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.  By stimulating your child's senses you are helping their brain develop because when a sense is engaged neural pathways are being created to assist with further.

Sign Language
Why do we do sign language?
  • Accelerated speech and emotional development
  • Enables children to communicate effectively
  • Lowers frustration levels
  • Reinforces the learning of educational concepts such as ABC’s, animals, and other specific themes
  • Helps children remember words because there is muscle memory involved, and the more senses involved in learning, the greater memory retention the child will have
  • Improves attentiveness to social gestures of others as well as of themselves
  • Larger speaking vocabulary and ability to form longer sentences
  • It improves fine motor and gross motor skills
  • Helps children with their visual perception
  • Help me help your children
  •
  • Names
  • Please remember to label all of your children's belongings  .
Lunch
Lunch is an important time of the day.
We get a break from our  masks  and fill our tummies.

Sunflower Science

What Is Science?
Science is not just a body of knowledge.
It's “a way of thinking and acting ... a way of trying to discover the nature of things.”
Science learning at any age involves curiosity, exploration, and discovery
This come naturally to most toddlers.  Adults can help young children find answers to their questions and discover more about things that interest them.
What is it?
What colors do you see?
Where does it live/ grow?
What does it do?
It is a time for them to use their senses.
How does it feel?
How does it smell?

Painting Sunflower

We love to read!
One of our favorite times during the day is story time.

Next week: Apple fun!!!

When your child gets home each day I am sure you want to ask " How was your day" and they probably wont be able to tell you what you want to know!   Use the daily log to stir up some memories of the day.
  • What was the best thing that happened today?
  • Who did you play with today?
  • What book did Ms. Kerno read today?
  • Where did you go today? (PE, STEAM, outside)
