 Away in the Manger 

This week we have learning the story of the Manger and how Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.

We also has a special prayer serves with Nursery 3 in our atrium. A special thanks to Mrs. Devenney for leading our prayer service and show us how Mary we preparing herself to be Jesus's Mother.

In class with have been slowly adding to our Manger story.

They can't wait to put baby Jesus in the manger next week!

With our hands  prepared a manger for Baby Jesus and cut out starts to light the sky

This week we have also been busy learning how to be Santa's helper by sanding wood and learning how to hammer.

Reminders and Important Dates

• Please join us for the Family Advent Liturgy in the HCA gym. All are welcome to attend. You can find the RSVP link in the Happenings.

• We are hosting a toy drive for children from the ages of infancy to 12 years old so please feel free to bring an unwrapped toy. There will also be a bake sale after the Mass.

• Friday, December 17

• All students will have a dress down day and may wear holiday colors to school.

• The last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, December 17. It is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 noon and no HCA Plus.

• Christmas break

• Runs from December 18 through January 3. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

The students have been busy practicing their song for our Christmas show!

 They will be singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star " with an added verse.

There so cute!!! 

 To comply with COVID-19 health and safety guidance, we are limiting the number of persons who will be in the school gym during this live performance.

 Consequently, the Nursery 2 and Nursery 3 children will be recorded singing their song.

 The video will be played during the live performance.

Elf on the Shelf (or in a Box )

This week we had two special friends arrive in our classroom.

Please meet Jingle and bell. They are here to report back to Santa all the amazing things we do everyday.  As you can see they too are being Covid safe and wearing their mask.

We did a little water painting and color mixing.

Advent 

We have been enjoying learning about Advent in Music Class with Mrs. Clay.

Reminders and Upcoming events

• The Family Christmas Liturgy will take place on Sunday, December 12 at 1:30 pm. We are asking families to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Murphy’s Giving Market. I hope to see everyone there.

• During December we celebrate ALL FAMILIES MONTH at HCA. Students will be meeting with their school families during community time. Please email a family photo to your child's homeroom teacher or send in a family photo with your child by 12/9. Students will take turns introducing their families to their school families.

• Looking ahead - The last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, December 17. It is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 noon and no HCA Plus. Christmas break runs from December 18 through January 3. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
