Fine Motor Skill time
We are working with our little hands and and getting them ready for bigger and better skills.

 Table Setting
We are still working on our table setting skill. We want to be ready for the big day, Thanksgiving.

Shape fun
Our new favorite game is the bell game.  They have to walk around a shape without ringing the bell (and we all know how hard that can be for a little one).  When they make it all the way around they get to ring the bell!

Story time
Books, books we love our books.  We love them in library, in a basket, on our sofa under the tree, and even in our rocking chair.  We love our books anywhere.

Numbers
All children have mathematical tendencies, and all children should be able to enjoy mathematical studies. Dr. Montessori proposed that the introduction of mathematics during the period of the absorbent mind (0-6 years) enables the child to form positive associations with numbers, which can be carried on throughout life. The key is to provide the child with hands-on experiences. For the young child, an explanation is not enough. Dr. Montessori wrote: “Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”

Magnet time
We always love exploring with our magnets.

Cooking
The highlight of  our week has been in the make, baking and eating bread.  There is nothing better than the smell of homemade bread cooking in the oven.  Mrs. Richards said that they could smell it throughout the whole school.  Sorry to say that I forgot me phone to take pictures of the children delivering bread to a lucky few staff and teachers at the school.  They were so proud of what they had made.

There’s a simple activity that helps children to develop cognitively, psychologically and creatively: coloring. They love to do it anyway, and it could lead to a healthier, happier life in adolescence and into adulthood. The following are some of the key benefits of coloring pages in kids’ psychology and development:
1. Improves Motor Skills (development of the muscles of the fingers and hands)
2. Prepares Them for School
3. Stimulates Creativity
4. Contributes to Better Handwriting
5. Color Awareness, Recognition and Discernment
6. Improved Focus and Hand to Eye Coordination
7. Boundaries, Structure and Spatial Awareness
8. Improved Confidence and Self Esteem (Because they can do it themselves)
9. Self-Expression
10. Therapy and Stress Relief

Most kids love to color, and it turns out it’s more than just a recreational activity. It can also foster physical and psychological development in a range of areas. Get your kids started with coloring as early as possible, and you’ll contribute to a lifetime of positive benefits.

Story Time
One of our favorite stories this year is, "Give that back Jack." It is a story that highlights sharing. Their favorite part of the story is at the end when Jack is eaten by a snake. So, of course we had to play with some snakes at the end of the book!

Work Time
Table Setting and Food Cutting
Who needs help setting the table or cutting vegetables for Thanksgiving dinner?  Well just ask your little one.  We have been practicing in class getting ready for the big day.  We have also been working on our numbers, colors, and shapes.  Just check out the pictures below to see how hard your child have been working.

National Pop Corn Month
Yummy pop corn!  Thanks you Mrs Morgan for bring in your pop corn maker.  We had fun watching corn pop but even fun more eating it.  We also did pop corn art, pop corn games,  pop corn song and stories.

Please remember to a pack everything that your child will need for lunch (spoon, fork, drink).

Art
We had a great time making fall trees this week.  It was filled with lots of laughs and giggles.  They loved having their arms painted.

Music
A turkey is a funny bird.
His head goes wobble, wobble
and he only knows one word
and it's gobble, gobble, gobble.

Sensory Fun
We had lots of fun making squishy bag of colored corn.
We will be using the corn next week for a fall art project.

Fall Sensory Table
We can see fall, feel fall, and smell fall.
Look at our little explorer learning about the season of fall.
