This is Smarty Marty and he has been helping our children learn how to wear their mask and when to wear their mask. I hope they have been singing his song to you at home!
Bob the fish
Bob is our classroom pet.
We will be learning all about Bob and how to care for him throughout the year.
The children enjoy sitting with Bob and look at him through our magnifying glasses.
It is our special job each morning to check on Bob and feed him.
Bob has a song too!
Sunflower Science
What Is Science?
Science is not just a body of knowledge.
It's “a way of thinking and acting ... a way of trying to discover the nature of things.”
Science learning at any age involves curiosity, exploration, and discovery.
This come naturally to most toddlers. Adults can help young children find answers to their questions and discover more about things that interest them.
What is it?
What colors do you see?
Where does it live/ grow?
What does it do?
It is a time for them to use their senses.
How does it feel?
How does it smell?
When your child gets home each day I am sure you want to ask " How was your day" and they probably wont be able to tell you what you want to know! Use the daily log to stir up some memories of the day.
- What was the best thing that happened today?
- Who did you play with today?
- What book did Ms. Kerno read today?
- Where did you go today? (PE, STEAM, outside)
Lunch
Lunch is an important time of the day.
We get a break from our masks and fill our tummies.
Please remember to send in a fork/ spoon and a napkin with your child's lunch.
Thermoses are a great way to keep your child's lunch nice and hot.
School lunch orders are taken monthly. Please see the schools web page for more information.
Red Folders
Please remember to check your child's red folders each night.
Your child's daily logs will be in your child's folder along with other important information for you. I will all be sending home your child's art work at the end of the month in your child's folder.
