The Sound S
This week we began working on our first sound in class together. They really enjoyed doing their sounds bags! Thank you parents for helping your children get their bags together. Each week will explore a new sound together for the rest of the school year. This will just be an introduction to sounds. We are laying for foundation for them to build the language skill as they are preparing to move to Nursery 3 and beyond.

EC STEM Presentation
On Tuesday, the early childhood students welcome Mr. John Touhill, father of Aubree (N3), and Mr. Matt Valeri, father of Sophia (N2), for a hands-on STEM presentation on water quality. The students learned about the importance of clean water and pH levels. The children were able to test the pH levels of several different liquids using both pH testing strips and electrochemical meters to determine their acidity. The students loved working like real scientists!
We are so grateful to Mr. Touhill and his company, ThermoFisher Scientific, for providing us with this wonderful opportunity. They also treated us to a delicious snack of soft pretzels and applesauce and each child went home with a Nalgene water bottle as well.
Read Across America
We want to send out a big thank you to the Upper Darby Police Department for sending Captain Daniel Lanni to read to our students. The children loved listening to him read The Cat in The Hat by Dr. Seuss.
