Science
For Science we had a little fun making colors dance in milk. First we add a few drops of primary colors to the milk. Then we dipped our Q-tips into liquid soap. We then put the Q-tip into the milk and watched the dancing begin. The children were so excited to see the colors dance and move around. We talked about how when the colors moved around they began to change . Science is fun.
Apples, Apples, Apples!
This week we also leaned about apples in class. We did some apple painting, read some books about apples, learn some apple poems, add a few apple lessons.
Herb Garden
In Montessori we try and have the children learn through all of their senses. The sense of smell and touch for the young is one of the most important way the gain new knowledge. In or HCA garden we have been growing all kinds of herbs. The children, Mrs. Morgan, and I had a great time the garden, picking the herbs and exploring them through touch and smell. Back in class we then put the herbs in a mortar and pestle to work on our fine motor skills as well as smell. Our whole classroom smelled great. Other teachers were coming just to see what we were doing. I hope your enjoyed the herbs we sent home and will be able to use them.
